Body Care

What Is Body Care?

Body care essentially refers to any practice that works to look after the skin and hair on your body. From cleansing, exfoliating, and hair removal to nail care and body brushing — all of these activities can be classified as body care. Body care can also include regularly changing sanitary items during your menstrual cycle.

Why Is Body Care Important?

When you think about it, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to invest so much time in our skin from the neck up, only to leave the rest of our skin high and (literally) dry. Body care is essential to ensure we're healthy, hygienic, and hydrated from head to toe. A good body care routine will help to prevent any skin dryness and irritation, reduce ingrown hairs or hair removal rashes, and limit the risk of infections in the skin or nail beds. Our bodies go through a lot in our day-to-day lives, from helping us move through the world and braving the elements, to bouncing back after knocks and bumps and helping us fight illness and infection. So, our bodies really do deserve some extra love.

  • Scrub

A body scrub is a physical exfoliant that is usually either salt or sugar-based, used to remove dead skin cells from your skin. The abrasive ingredients (sugar, salt) are worked into the skin and work as a natural exfoliant, clearing the skin of older skin cells so your skin feels soft supple and nourished. Body scrub works by stimulating skin cell turnover for smoother, brighter skin, and can help restore’s skins natural moisture, prevent future acne breakouts, and make you feel great!

  • Body Wash

The skin is your body’s largest organ. It protects you everyday, but are you protecting it??

What we put on our bodies absorbs directly into our cells and can affect our health. Sometimes, not immediately, but overtime toxic chemicals can accumulate causing irreparable damage. Often we take a lot of time to think about our facial and hair care. What about your shower routine? What are you using everyday? Check your ingredient list to see if any of the following ingredients exist in your bath or shower gel. If they do it may be time to consider an alternative.

  • Deo

What Are the Types of Deodorant?

Two types of products can help with body odor:

    • Deodorants cover up the smell of body odor, usually with fragrances.
    • Antiperspirants stop or dry up perspiration or sweat. They do this by temporarily blocking the pores where sweat comes from.

Deodorants, antiperspirants, and combination products come in sticks, roll-ons, gels, sprays, and creams and are sold at any many stores.

  • Moisturize

If you suffer from dry, flaky skin, the moisturizer aisle can feel like a minefield. You don’t want to waste money on ineffective products or those that make unrealistic claims — or to buy a lotion that might even make your condition worse. Before you pick up another tube or bottle, read our glossary of the best moisturizing ingredients to find the antidote for your dry skin.

  • Depilation

How to care for your skin before and after hair removal treatments?

  • Intimate

Intimate Hygiene: The Basic Rules how to maintain vaginal health

Intimate hygiene, as the name rightly suggests, is all about keeping your privates clean and hygienic. Many women don’t know the difference between intimate and regular hygiene, and fail to follow the basic rules to maintain their vaginal health.

Clear, white vaginal discharges are normal. There are certain glands in the cervix that produce a natural lubricant, which moves down your vagina, helping it remain moist and healthy. Put simply, this vaginal discharge is your vagina’s natural way of cleaning itself and an indication that it is perfectly healthy.

However, if the discharge is smelly, of a different colour (like yellow or green) and is causing itching and soreness, chances are high that it might be due an infection. Consult a Gynaecologist in Kochi immediately in case the discharge is foul-smelling, itchy or blood-stained.

Your vagina, in terms of pH, is more acidic than the rest of your body. This helps maintain good bacteria like lactobacilli and prevent the growth of bad. You need to follow good intimate hygiene practices to ensure that you do not upset the vaginal pH balance and in turn avoid vaginal infections like bacterial vaginosis (BV).

  • For Children

    • Playing with a waterproof toy.
    • Reading an engaging storybook about bath time.
    • Telling them their favourite stories Creating a mini adventure while bathing.

Once they’re happy and comfortable in the bath, the goal is to teach them how to place a washcloth into soapy water and scrub a body part before rinsing.
